Mexico June 14th for the Monster Energy X pilots event.
This will be Marks 5th X Pilots ,with his best finish coming at
the last event where he placed second behind a tie of Wiley

Phillips says he has been working on his flip combos as well
as going back to basics with some right side up variations.
Mark will be keeping us posted on his trip, so we will try to
update as we get the info. For now, check out some of his

6/08/08 Fire Relief Benefit- Palm Bay Fla.
Driving to Wet-N-Wild with the kids this past Friday to enjoy a splash under
the hot Florida sun, Rudy and Seth heard an ad on the radio for a Benefit
Rally being held by the community churches and local businesses to benefit
the victims of the fires that affected Brevard County a couple of weeks ago.
Living in the same county, they decided to try to find a way to donate their
services to help out the event.
After a quick call to the promotions department at Palm Bay Harley Davidson,
they were scheduled jump at the end of the days activities which included
many bands,a car show, bike show, rappers, dunking booths, raffles,
jugglers, vendors, and several different activities for the kids. With all the last
minute set up finished late Friday night, the guys looked forward to being a
part of such a great event.
Saturday turned out to be another beautiful sunny day, but unfortunately
accompanied by gusting winds which made for a sub par FMX demo. The
riders would have normally pulled the plug on the show, but decided since the
people waited around in the heat for the wind to die down, they could atleast
try to do their best under the conditions and go for it. After a couple of warm
up jumps Rudys' bike fowled a plug and Seth Elliott had to finish off the
remainder of the demo solo. With a few tricks thrown in the mix, the crowd was
able to atleast get a small taste of FMX, and the benefit ended up being a
great success. The guys stayed around after the show to give away posters,
sign autographs and spend some time with new as well as old friends that
came out to support the benefit.
Thanks to everyone who made it possible for us to come out and to the
people who showed up to help raise money for such a great cause. Hope you
have a nice day...

6/15/08 City of Joliet Car Show & Fathers Day
Festival.
Rudy Waller and Seth Elliott just got in from a 2500 mile road trip to and
from Joliet Illinois this past weekend, where they performed a couple of
demos for the annual Route 66 Car Show and Festival put on by the City
of Joliet..
This was the fourth year that ECX has been a part of the weekend
activities in downtown Joliet , just outside of Chicago. With every year
getting bigger and better, the only concern was the weather which was
not looking good on the 24 hour drive up. Come Saturday morning the
sun was blazing and the people showed up pumped and ready enjoy the
weekend.
The two riders did 3 demos on Saturday but had to cut Sundays event
short when a sudden storm showed up at about three in the afternoon
sending everyone scrambling from the hail and gusting winds. After
about 30 minutes the sun was back out, but the days events were
pretty much done, so the guys were given the green light to hit the road
for the long ride home.
Thanks to Dave and City of Joliet as well as to all of the friends who
have come out year after year to hang out and have a good time.

6/22/08 Europe update from Rudy Waller
What a week... After the 24 hour drive back from Joliet Illinois last
Monday, Seth and I made it home with just enough time to tear my bike
apart and wash clothes before I needed to be at the Orlando airport for
my trip back overseas. In Europe, I would meet up with FMX4ever
owner and good friend Jimmy Verburgh and his crew for a couple of
weeks of shows and some practicing at his compound.
I arrived in Brussels, Belgium pretty exhausted from the drive and long
ass flight. (which was made even longer when we sat for 3 & 1//2 hours
on the runway in Philly, roasting the whole time with no explanation...
Thank You U.S. Airways....) to find that the airline lost my bags and had
no information but to just keep calling back and arrange for delivery.
Unfortunately the crew was just waiting for me to arrive so we could leave
on a 10+ hour drive to Copenhagen, Denmark for a Live Nation
Monsterjam, - so the bags would just have to be put out of mind for a
minute. Soon enough I hit the road with team owner Jimmy Verburgh,
Swedish rider Morgan Carlson, Swedish Sled and X Games Finalist and
FMX rider Daniel Bodin, British rider Chris Birch, and their boy Bart
(team mechanic/pitcrew).
After driving straight through all night to Denmark, we were met by a
rainy afternoon that left the whole stadium covered in mud.(no practice
now, new ramps, new bike, no suspension, and did I mention no rest...?) I
definitely was not looking forward to jumping the next morning.
Saturday morning the LiveNation Crew did an awesome job with the dirt
and somehow got it perfect before pit party even started. With no
practice we went straight to the show and I just followed right in with a
couple of passes and joined in doing the best I could. The show went off
well and I now had the afternoon to rest for the night show.
The evenings show went alot better for me as I now felt rested and a little
more comfortable with the stock suspension and new bike/ramps set up.
With all of us healthy and done with show #1 in Denmark, we packed up
ECX/FMX4ever style, and drove straight through all last night to make it
back to Jimmy's in Zelzate, Belgium, where we will stay for the week
before another Monster Jam in Brussels this coming Saturday. Thanks
for stopping by and I will keep you posted if anything happens this week,
it is 2 a.m. and we are riding in the morning so, hasta luego amigos....Oh,
I almost forgot, my luggage made it today!

7/5/08 North Carolina Freedom Fest
ECX riders Seth Elliott,Brent Schwalm, and Jake Goodyear, spent the
4th of July weekend in North Carolina for the first annual Freedom Fest
put on by our friends at the DOGHOUSE bars.
The three riders jumped 2 to 3 sessions a day between rain showers.
This event also had some musical acts including Molly Hatchet,
BlackFoot, Sammy Kershaw, as well as some local bands, fireworks
display, vendors, bike show and a street bike stunt show by friends Kelly
Joe, Abe, and Jersey.
With all the festivities over, Seth drove the 600 miles back home with the
rig to get it ready for a week off before things get started all over again,
Thanks for stopping by and a special thanks to Dave and Dave for having
us be a part of their event.

An ECX favorite..

For the last couple of weeks, ECX rider Brent Schwalm has been up north
jumping with our partner in Canada and THORNEFMX owner Jason Thorne.
Here is what he had to say about his trip to Thornes' world...Ju
6/20-6/22 This weekend I headed up to Desaronto, On. to meet up with
Jason "Airborne" Thorne and Marco AKA the Finn. Everything on the trip
went awesome, we were able to put on two great shows Saturday and one on
Sunday. The weather held out both days making the annual Waterfront
Festival another one for the books. We even had some time after the shows
on Saturday to head out and enjoy the surrounding Thousand Islands lakes
on a Cigarette boat. I would like to thank Tina and Nathan again for putting on
greatshow, ECXFMX, and the guys at ThorneFMX for everything. Hope to
see you there next year.
6/27-6/29 A couple of days ago I headed back up to Canada, this time to
meet Jason Thorne and Marco in Peterbourough On. This marked for the
firstever Peterborough Wakeboard Open. Waking up to pouring rain didn't
seem like a great start, but by the time the Thornefmx.com crew was ready for
the first session the sun was out and all was well for the rest of the day.
Sunday was a different story, with us performing the first session in a minor
down pour. After a wet first session, the sun came out and made way for an
excellent day in Peterborough. We had one more session along with some
awesome contests for the wakeskate classes and wakeboarding. I would like to
thank Brad for putting on such a great event, Jason Thorne from ThorneFMX
as well as ECX and to all my friends and sponsors for their support.

6/29/08 Elliott in Villavicencio, Colombia
ECX rider Seth Elliott just made it in from a long weekend that took him
down to small town on the outskirts of Bogota called Villacencio. Here is
a rundown of what happened.
After a hectic flight and couple hour drive through the mountains of
Colombia, I arrived to a VIP welcoming at a local club acompanied by
local hero and FMX rider Sebastian "Tatan" Mejia, Brazilian rider
Gilmar "Johaninha" Flores and Duver "Pollo" Retrepo. After a
couple of Redbull Vodka's ,an unhappy fan thought he would get some
attention and gave Sebastian a punch in the back, causing the whole
place to errupt into a bar fight. We were kindly escorted out of the club
and taken back to the safety of the hotel to rest for the next days events.
The day of the show came and the rain wouldn't stop, but the promotor
decided to try anyways and give the fans a show by scraping the mud
and letting the us jump at whatever distance we felt comfortable with in
between rain showers. We did our best and jumped a bit for the crowd
and had to call it a day after the weather went from bad to worse.
Thanks ECXFMX and to the people of Skillz for the attention they gave
us while there, Sebastian & his family, Pollo and everyone else that
made this trip possible..

6/29/08 Europe Wrap Up from Brussels,
Belgium From Rudy Waller
Wow! It has been a hardcore last month or so... I am on my way
home from Brussels Belgium where I finished off my ten days with
Jimbo and the crew at FMX4ever. This last week I was sick as a dog
with a flu I got after spending the weekend in Denmark with only
shorts and a Miami Heat basketball jersey, thanks to US Airways.
Sunday afternoon I jumped at another LiveNation MonsterJam,
this time in the Van Damme (not the actor) stadium in Brussels,
Belgium. The show was business as usual with your basic Monster
truck style demo of 4 guys riding in the intermission in between
monster truck racing, rc cars, and tufftrucks. We did though, have
an extra long pit party before the show with thousands of fans and
friends cruising around the pits for autographs and pictures.
Thanks to all the guys over at Fmx4Ever for the great time in
Europe, we hope to have you riding with us in America soon.
I am back home with one day to get everything ready for Seth,
Brent, and Jake to jump this next weekend in North Carolina for the
first annual Freedom Fest bike Rally, while I take off for the annual
reunion to party with my pasieros from Panama. Thanks for the
support and thank you for stopping by....

Back in business...Just got a new PC (last one took a dump with all
my info on it. I'll back stuff up from now on....)
I just got back home from the annual Canal Zone Reunion where I
had a blast with all my friends from back home, and now I'm off to
Panama for a surf trip and a little promotion work in the city, while
Seth Elliott and Brent Schwalm are off to Canada for the Annual
Wakestock event with Jason Thorne and Co. Thanks for stopping
by and see you in a week or two.......r.
Hey what's up. Ive been sitting around sleeping and waiting for my broken
ribs to heal, it sucks. It's been a month since my crash in Hermosillo,
Mexico where I missed the landing ramp and slammed the ground hard. I
think I hit head first because I knocked my self out from when I hit the
ground till I woke up in the hospital. The next week felt like two days...luckily
I only broke some ribs, knocked out some teeth and hurt my shoulder...
there was metal re bar sticking out near where I landed, everyone thought
one of the bars stabbed me when I went down, but luckily that didn't happen.
When I got out of the hospital my friends and I continued our road trip to
California where met up with Mike Metzger and he tattooed a sweet bomb
on my arm. We hung out in Cali for a few days then drove back to
Ensenada Mexico. The next show, only two weeks after my crash, I duct
taped my sore shoulder and went out and did a big burnout. After I got the
crowd going my adrenaline took away the pain and I hit the ramp and did a
bunch of tricks for the crowd.I landed well and didn't re injur myself luckily.
The next show in was in Tijuana the next night. I went out and did a burnout
for the crowd and decided it was best not to jump since I was now feeling
the pain from riding the night before with stitches and duct tape. A couple of
burnouts would be all I was in for before the long drive back to Canada.
Back on our road trip we drove to Cali and relaxed at the beach for a day,
went to LasVegas and partied for a night. Now im back home in Canada to
finish my recovery. Thanks for stopping by......mp

7/30/08 Wakestock was a Blast
Seth Elliott and Brent Schwalm made the trip up north to meet up with
ECX/Metal Mulisha rider Jason Thorne and the crew of ThorneFMX for the
annual Wakestock event in Canada. ECX has been a part of this event for
the last couple of years now and have one of the best times of the year
here. The show included many top bands, wakeboard competitions, bikini
contests and a killer party all weekend.
The jumping for this years event was taking care of by Jason Thorne, Marco
Rikkonen, Seth Elliott, and Brent Schwalm. The riders hit a two ramp set up
pulling off some tricks for the crowd in between all the h20 action. Elliott
went down briefly when he didn't get all the way back from a hart attack, but
brushed himself off and kept on kickin for the rest of the event.
We may be seeing alot more of Canada now that Thorne dog has his pit
ready for some upside down practice. ECX would like to thank everyone
who made this event possible and a special thanks to ThorneFMX ..We
hope to be a part of it next year, thanks for stopping by....ecx.

8/5/08 Celerity MotoFreak Show Pt. I Manizales
Colombia.
After getting a last minute phone call last Wednesday night, I was on
the first flight to Colombia for a two week tour for the Celerity
MotoFreak Show by Skillz Ent. The tour would start in Sebastian
"Tatan" Mejia's home town of Manizales and finish off a week later in
Medellin for the Intl. Flower Festival being held throughout the city for
the entire week.
The show in Manizales consisted of Dustin Nowak-USA,Duver"
Pollo" Restrepo-Colombia, Gilmar "Johanina" Flores-Brazil, and
myself-Panama,with the FMX, Caleb and Colton Moore -USA ,with
the Quad FMX, and X games Silver Medalist Sam Rogers-USA, taking
up the duties on the Snowmobile. ESPNs' Andres Zambon from
Argentina would be taking up the mic for the tour.Andres has now
become the FMX voice for most of the major shows in Latinamerica.
The event started with a little rain and ended with a bang as the Moore
brothers hit eachother in mid air during a train sending the whole crowd
into a roar. The entire evenings show was a success with the crowd
stoked with the tricks put on by the riders. The only downside of the
event was the absence of Sebastian"Tatan"Mejia from the rider
lineup. Tatan seems to have taken a digger and seperated his shoulder
while practicing flips at Chuck Carothers house last week in Texas.
Still, the injured Colombian moto star was on hand to sign autographs
as well as to lend me his ride for the tour...Gracias compa!
After the show the crew took us to a soccer game to enjoy some local
flavor before the 8 hour ride through the mountains of Colombia on our
way to Medellin. We now have a week here in Medellin to do some P.R.
and enjoy the festivities of the Intl. Flower Festival that has all sort of
events going on all week before our show this weekend.
I will keep you posted after the show. Thanks for stopping by and hope
all is well......r.

8/13/08 Colombia MotoFreak Part II from Rudy
Waller
Medellin Colombia- After a day of driving through the mountains
from Manizales, we got up in the a.m. for a press conference and some
riding at a local track with some of the racers. I wasn't feeling the track
riding, so I decided to take up my friend and RedBull man Juanchos'
invite to his farm for a few days of rest and relaxation in the mountains
of Venecia. With two days of great food, some guaro, and great views
of the Colombian landscape, I met up with the other riders at the main
soccer stadium for the show.
This show was similar to the one the weekend before with the addition
of X Games gold medalist Chuck Carothers to the rider line up.
Again the Moore bros. killed it with the quads adding a couple of flips
and variations to their runs while Sam Rogers really added some thrill
as he took his sled upside down for the fans.
After a going away party by the guys at Skillz Ent. , I headed to
Panama for two days of media. Thanks to Skillz, Tatan and his family,
Juancho, and everyone else who made this trip possible.
I now have this afternoon to wash my gear and put my bike back
together before driving 650 miles to Wilmington, North Carolina, for the
11th annual Gold Rush Charity Bike Show, at the Pure Gold Nightclub.

8/18/08 11th Annual Gold Rush Charity Bike
Show @ Pure Gold.
ECX riders Rudy Waller and Seth Elliott just returned from a quick 3
day trip up to Wilmington, North Carolina where they jumped on
Saturday the 16th at a Charity bikeshow put on by the guys at PureGold
Nightclubs. The bikeshow called GOLDRUSH included music, food,
bikini contest, bikeshow, fmx show and a raffle where they gave away two
custom built bikes.
After an eleven hour drive, the guys set up the ramps in the back parking
lot and did their thing for the crowd on hand. Both riders took a couple of
warm up jumps since Rudy has been overseas for a few weeks and Seth
has been up in Canada riding different bikes and ramps. The guys were
able to set the ramps up at the usual 75ft. with plenty of room in the lot
and bust 4 sessions throughout the day in between the other activities.
Mark Phillips was to be on hand, but wasn't able to make it back yet from
his accident in Hermosillo Mexico. Mark tells us he is healing up great and
will start riding this week fulltime. Good luck Flako!
Thanks to Doghouse Dave, everyone at GoldRush and to the people of
Wilmington for a great weekend! We now have 3 days to try to re-deck
the landing before heading back out on the road to Syracuse New York...
